Mead Johnson Nutrition Responds to Louisiana Flooding

Posted on Aug. 23rd, 2016 at 4:15pm

The torrential rains that began on August 12 dumped more than two feet of rain in 48 hours in parts of Louisiana and Mississippi. The resultant flooding has taken a heavy toll over the past couple of weeks, submerging homes and sending residents to emergency shelters.

As is often the case, Mead Johnson’s sales representatives in the area – as well as the doctors’ offices and medical facilities they service – were the first source of help, as sample stock of our products was provided to families and shelters in need. While the company was scrambling to replace those stocks, the first request expressing need for our products came in from the American Red Cross (ARC). Less than 24 hours later, the company rushed more than 21,000 units of much-needed infant formula and toddler milk products to the Red Cross in Baton Rouge, and approximately 7,000 units to the United Way in Lafayette. Mead Johnson reminded its employees that it will match any contributions they make through recognized charities to provide relief to affected families.

The company continues to monitor this situation and will remain in touch with local authorities to identify additional opportunities to be of assistance.
